The Teachers Are Now Behind Bars on Remand After Assaulting the Student

A disturbing incident of student abuse that was spread on social media platforms previously as a video has led to the arrest and remand of two teachers from Standard College Rwashamaire. 

The two teachers who appeared in the court for their case.

Aneb Mwesigye, 31, and Naboth Twesigye, 30, were taken into custody after a viral video showed them assaulting a 16-year-old student, Brian Akampa.

The two teachers appeared before Magistrate Nassuna Sharon, who charged them with assault. However, they pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Despite their denial, the court remanded them in Ntungamo until their next court appearance, scheduled for March 4, 2025.

The decision has been met with relief from many who were outraged by the video and demanded justice for the young student.

The incident has raised concerns about student safety and the need for stricter measures to prevent such abuses in schools. The case is ongoing, and the public will be watching closely to see how justice is served.
