National Unity Platform Deputy President for Western Uganda, Jolly Kyomugasho Mugisha, Passes Away.
According to the reports, Jolly Mugisha succumbed to her illness at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital, where she had been admitted in a coma for several weeks.

Kampala, Uganda - Tragic news has hit the National Unity Platform (NUP) as Mrs. Jolly Kyomugasho Mugisha, the party's Deputy President for Western Uganda, passed away on Monday afternoon.
NUP President Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, announced the sad news through his social media account, expressing deep sorrow.
"Mama Jolly has passed on this afternoon from Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital... Mama Jolly will always be remembered as a true Ugandan heroine," Kyagulanyi stated.
Born in Buhanama, Itojo Sub County, Ntungamo District, Mugisha was a dedicated social worker and politician. She joined NUP in July 2020 and was appointed Deputy President for Western Uganda, a region dominated by the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).

Mugisha also served as Vice Chair of Uganda's National Consultative Forum for all registered political parties and organizations (NCF), representing NUP.
Her passion for social change stemmed from her experiences with patriarchal biases in her community. As the only one among her six sisters to complete education without facing forced marriage, discrimination, or gender stereotypes, Mugisha dedicated her life to fighting injustices.D

Mugisha's passing has sent shockwaves through Uganda's political landscape, with many paying tribute to her tireless efforts towards social change.
